Indeed, you can find Finnish word lists with 1000 most common words in them. I’ve reviewed them and I found that the translations to English had errors and some words are outdated.

Also, these lists from the internet don’t provide you with all the meanings for a single word which is a big problem as many words are context-based in Finnish. Let me give you an example. The verb “tuntua” means both “to feel” and “to seem” in Finnish, depending on the context.
